The PURPOSE of the St. Simons Island Writers Society is to foster a welcoming and supportive community for writers of all levels and genres. We aim to encourage members’ creativity, facilitate the exchange of ideas, and provide opportunities for growth through collaboration, education, and shared experiences.

Our VISION is a vibrant and enduring literary community that celebrates the art of writing, nurtures diverse genres and voices, and contributes to the cultural richness of our island. We aspire to help members gain new insight and greater understanding of the art and craft of writing, while fostering inspiration, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

Writing can be a solitary journey, but it doesn’t have to be. You’ve now joined a supportive society dedicated to fostering your craft, offering valuable networking opportunities, and providing constructive feedback as well as workshop opportunities.
