Greeting to our SSI Writers Society members and our other friends,
We hope that your summer was relaxing and restful. And we hope that you still found time to write during times of quiet or even amongst chaos. First, as the school year starts, so do our Programs and Events. We hosted our first program, “The Ins and Outs of Publishing,” with Barbara Kruk, Chris Myers, and Gregory Royal sharing their experiences and expertise. Those who attended gained much insightful information. One participant stated, ” This was seriously so helpful!” After their presentation, participants joined together in a shared writing response and group discussion. Secondly, we have three more exciting opportunities:
1. In October, local authors will speak about their experiences followed by a writing workshop.
DATE: Saturday, October 24 (10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.)
LOCATION: Shadow Brook Village Clubhouse, 129 Shady Brook Circle, SSI
This is a FREE event, but YOU MUST REGISTER on the website because space is limited!
2. There will be a Holiday Book Sale of books by local and area authors. Use this opportunity to purchase gifts; the author can offer personal inscriptions.
DATE: Saturday, November 7 (10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. – just stop by!)
LOCATION: American Legion Post 166, 1013 Arthur J. Moore Drive, SSI
While the event is FREE, please bring money to purchase books!
