The PURPOSE of the St. Simons Island Writers Society is to foster a welcoming and supportive community for writers of all levels and genres. We aim to encourage members’ creativity, facilitate the exchange of ideas, and provide opportunities for growth through collaboration, education, and shared experiences.

Our MISSION is to inspire and empower writers of all stages in their writing journey by offering writing groups, workshops, and events that promote skill development, constructive feedback, and literary excellence. We strive to create an inclusive, secure and safe environment where members can share their work, connect with fellow writers, and engage with the broader literary community on Saint Simons Island and beyond.
Our VISION is a vibrant and enduring literary community that celebrates the art of writing, nurtures diverse genres and voices, and contributes to the cultural richness of our island. We aspire to help members gain new insight and greater understanding of the art and craft of writing, while fostering inspiration, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
